We will first explore the Lon Wa Buddhist Temple, the biggest temple in Mindanao, boasting of an impressive Buddha Statue with his life depicted in wood carvings. We then move on to the Puentespina Orchid Garden Center to see its wide collection of orchid species including Waling-Waling: the “Queen of Philippine Orchids.”
Drive through Chinatown on your way to the San Pedro Cathedral, a mosque-inspired edifice built to foster friendship between the Christians and the Muslims. Proceed to the new Museo Dabawenyo, a government-owned museum that showcases Davao’s culture and history. Our next stop is Jack’s Ridge Resort, located atop a hill overlooking the city.
Continue to Davao Crocodile Complex where you will meet not only crocodiles but a variety of different animal species. Within the complex, you can also visit the Butterfly House and Tribu K’Mindanawan (Mindano Tribes). After this, we move on to the government-owned People’s Park which features a mini-forest and large sculptures representing the many indigenous groups of Mindano.
